Frequently asked questions about material codification, cleansing, UNSPSC and the VCode approach.
Material Cleansing
What is material master cleansing?+
Material master cleansing is the process of reviewing, correcting and standardising existing material records — fixing descriptions, removing duplicates, completing missing attributes and aligning with a consistent format.
How does VCode cleanse existing material data?+
We parse your existing descriptions using AI, identify what each record is, extract attributes, rewrite them in a standard format, flag duplicates, and fill gaps — all reviewed by specialists before delivery.
What format should I provide my data in?+
An Excel file with your material number, short description, long description and any additional fields is sufficient. We handle the rest.
How long does a cleansing project take?+
Timeline depends on volume and complexity. A dataset of 5,000 materials typically takes 2–4 weeks including AI processing, specialist review and client sign-off rounds.
